Endoscopic Ear Surgery

Endoscopic ear surgery is a newer, minimally invasive technique where the entire operation is performed through the ear canal. It provides excellent, magnified views of the middle ear and allows access around corners that are difficult to see with the microscope.

Many centres worldwide are gradually moving towards endoscopic techniques. A very small incision may still be needed to harvest fascia for eardrum reconstruction, but it is smaller, hidden, and heals faster.
